DGN XFM DATA

Is there a way to edit existing DGN XFM data in a file? I hav e data that I wish to keep, but some that is no longer needed. Such as, I want to keep city, state, zip, etc... But want to remove NUIDATE, CROSSCONNECT and CCSURVEY.

Basically I want to clean up the data without losing all of it.

Thanks

  • Hi James,

Is there a way to edit existing DGN XFM data in a file?

I agree with Jeff that it can be done (well, when Jeff told it, you can be sure ;-), but I think more details should be discussed to understand a context better.

In my opinion you have to distinguish what is displayed and what is stored:

    • By default, data structure for every XFM feature is defined in XFM project. Can you provide more details what XFM project do you use and how it's configured?
    • When a value is not filled, I think it's not stored with an element even as an empty value.
But want to remove NUIDATE, CROSSCONNECT and CCSURVEY.

At your screen catpure, these properties are not used, so they likely not stored with an element. But probably because defined as properties of this particular XFM feature, they are displayed in the dialog.

So what "to remove" means to you:

    • To delete specific properties from all XFM features. But without changing XFM project, I think they will be still displayed in dialog box.
    • To do not display the properties in dialog (and remove them from elements optionally), but they will still exist in XFM project.
    • To change XFM project in such way the properties will be removed at all.
