I have user on OpenCities Map who has enquired about South African co-ordinte system in OpenCIties,
to quote "After assigning any co-ordinate system (and projection) from the Library - while capturing co-ordinates one notices, that X increases in value towards the North and +Y towards East."
I do recall we had some work around in Bentley Map but I have not touched the software in 11 years, it appears the projected coordinates in OpenCities is not as it should be.

Sorry for the confusion about the terminology. Most Bentley Products use the term Geographic Coordinate System to represent all coordinate reference system regardless they are projected or not. We speak of projected GCS or non-projected GCS for latitude/longitude based. This of course clashes with the ISO/EPSG terminology that speaks instead of Coordinate Reference Systems which can be either Geographic (Latitude/Longitude) and Projected (linear units).Unfortunately both sets of terminology are common even for a lot of non Bentley Products.Whenever possible I prefer to use the term Coordinate Reference System yet within the Bentley community the use of GCS is more easily understood.
As to the functionality requested I will make sure OC product managers are aware of your needs.

Any idea where we can obtain the SA.GSB file? I have been searching but to no avail.
The file was created by the South Africa division of ESRI. I do not know who has ownership, either the South African government or ESRI. I would try ESRI South Africa.
