I have a series of cells in a cell library named, yellowhelmet, pinkhelmet, bluehelmet, blankhelmet.
when feature is first placed and has no data it has blankhelmet attached which is a helmet with white fill and black outline.
When I assign a value to it the criteria takes over and changes the cell to pinkhelmet which is a pink filled helmet with a black outline.....
The problem I'm having is that after reseting the feature it loses it's fill all together !! and becomes solid black ... does anyone know whats going on and what settings i should use with cells that have more than 1 colour ?
Please help!

In the symbology for the pont feature, do you have the "Override cell symbology" checked ?? If so, I believe the fill color you have described will be overridden by the symbology changes you have set up in the symbology node in the GSA. Usually this is on by default.

I've attached the cell library, I have noticed that if the cell type is a point rather than graphic this will change how the symbology interacts with it... (using a graphic cell maintains the cells symbology, using a point takes the active settings....)

I have defined the pinkHelmet as a point cell and the others as graphic... when placing a feature that is a pinkHelmet it seems to just take the active colour ... this might be microstation taking control rather than map.... if the feature does not need to be of a point type in order to export to a shp I can change them from point to graphic, however I am required to maintain the ability to export to SHP files.
Another small problem is multiline text and replacing of it ..... how would i get the replacement text to span many lines? it does not seem to take the line length from the text style box, and will not replace text found in a text node taht can have a width set on it.....
When exporting to SHP files does a graphic cell export as a point ? or must it be a point cell?
Why is there a difference between

Thanks for the reply cdalesandro
I'm currently using Bentley Map V8i 08.11.05.49 and Microstation V8i 08.11.05.17 the problem described only seems to happen with point features....
