I'm unable to link a reference to a drawing.

I am not sure I follow your workflow. Not sure to understand what the problem is exactly. I will try to narrow down you issue by developing your steps.

We want to attach reference file to the master drawing file.First, you have to open the master file. So, if that file is closed, the reference process cannot occurs. But the reference file not need to be open to be able to reference them. Is what you said ?

So, my understanding is you can only attach reference file to the master file when the reference file was already open in another session. Right?

Using term as connect and links causing confusion about which area of the applications you talked about. I will need more details to have a better understanding. For now, the attachment process work fine on my side. Please provide master and reference file to be able to reproduce the issue on my side.

More specific steps and files could help to narrow down the issue.
