Hello,
Can some one tell me how to create a new menu item (say under File menu) or insert a totally new menu in PowerMap V8i?
I would also be interested to know how to create cutom tool palette/ tool box in PowerMap V8i.
I tried using the Workspace>Customise but I am unable to insert any new menu or tools in the User tools or under Application tools>PowerMap V8i. The new tool/ tool box is greyed out and I am unable to insert a new tool box.
Tx in advance

You'll need to learn the new way in changing the MS GUI.
My hints:
There is a config var MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST. Nowadays you can save the changes to your toolboxes, menue-items
in a dgnlib. Create a new DGNLIB define it in MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST and you will be able to customize the GUI.

Thanks everyone for the support.
A little out of the way!
I was wondering if there is an option to set the MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST to include my dgnlib file without opening up MicroStation or PowerMap?
Cheers

I don't understand what you want to achieve. If MicroStation or PowerMap is not open, how do you include a DGNLIB file?
DGNLIBs, by the way, are DGN files having a .dgnlib extension. They are used for lots of purposes these days — for example, storing level tables. When you 'include' a DGNLIB, what you're really doing is attaching a reference that doesn't show up in the references dialog.

Never mind. I got the clue.
By editing the ucf file under the user and by adding the entry for MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST > $(MSDIR) to my dgnlib file, it will be possible to get the custom menu items created.
That was the whole idea.
Thanks
Yes, that's one trick, but note: for your convienence and your companies settings, the standards.cfg in workspace\standards (_USTN_SITE) or the project.pcf file are the better solution for holding MS_GUIDDGNLIBLIST. You should read the help file for settting up workspaces.
