Hi, I have a computer with Geographic version 08.05.02.11 (Microstation 08.05.02.35) installed that I have bin using regulary for the last 2-3 years. After installing MicroStation V8i and Bentley Map on this computer I can't get Geographic to start up properly. The problem is that all the Geographic menus and dialogs are missing, when I start it I just get the Microstation environment. I can see that Geographic MDL has bin loaded and I can key in commands like "Project load" but there is no "Project" or "Database" drop down menu.
I have tryed all kind of things to try to fix this. I have removed all custom interface and ucf files and tryed to copy a workspace folder structure from another computer with the same versions. The last thing I did was to uninstall all Bentley products and removed all Bentley related directories then I cleaned the registry of all Bentley keys and then reinstall Microstation 08.05.02.35 and Geographic 08.05.02.11 but no luck I still just get the Microstation menu environment when I start Geographic.

When installing the MicroStation 08.05 and 08.11 releases, did you choose the default locations for the "Workspace" files? My recommendation would be to choose "Custom" setup and ensure that the 2 MicroStation installations are not overlapping in any way (e.g. program and workspace folders). When MicroStation GeoGraphics and Bentley Map are installed, each product will place some configuration files in the following folders...
...some of which have common names (e.g. msgeo.cfg, msgeo.ucf etc...). After a complete removal, followed by an installation of just MicroStation 08.05 and MicroStation GeoGraphics 08.05.02.11, are you able to see the menus (e.g. before the installation of the V8i products)?

Hi, I allso thought that this was courst be some mixup of versions so I tryed installing MicroStation 08.05 and 08.11 releases in another location (c:\program files\bentley_v8) but it makes no difference.
After a complete removal af all Bentely products, followed by an installation of just MicroStation 08.05 and MicroStation GeoGraphics 08.05.02.11 I am still not able to see the menues witch makes no sence to me.
What is the OS and do you have any configuration variables set at the OS level?
What workspace are you launching (msgeo, mytown, do they all behave similarly?) , and from what icon?
What is the 'interface' set to when launched?
