Use of GeoCoord.system created with GeoGraphics in Bentley Map/PowerMap

Hi,

I have some DGN-files where own Geo coord.system (GCS) are stored. The Geo Coordinate sYstems was created with the Geographics 8.5 Datum editor (Bursa Wolf 7 Shift).

Can I use this GCS in BentleyMap or PowerMap, with the Import GCS form Master oder Refernces, or do I have to create this GCS

in own libraries??

 Regards

Frank

  • Can you post the file and the coordsys.dty here? You can also just write the custom values you have used in your definition in a text file and then post that here. Thanks.

  • Mohammad,

This is one example (jpg) of one local geo-Coordinate-System (GCS) we created with MS Geographics 8.5.2.10 de.

Historical living in Germany and doing land surveying, the federal official coordinates are based on an over

100 years old triangulation net based on BESSEL-Ellipsoid but with lot of local shift parameters for

every federal state and even for smaller regions one or more GCS ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DHDN). Plane Coordinates are based on Mercator Gauss-Kruger projection.

History but still in use, especially when I'm working with older project data.

And nowadays were going to ETRS 89 in Europe on UTM Projection. So  if I want to do shifts form the

old coordinate systems I'm calculation shifts parameters with identical fix point coordinates with our Leica GPS

Equipment (Software Leica GeoOffice) or I'm using standard affine transformation with plane coordinates that

I have for every Square-Kilometer (UTM/ETRS89 coordinates and local Gauss-Kruger-coordinates published by

the official federal land surveying agency from the federal state rhineland-platinate: https://geodaten.service24.rlp.de)/gkutmpp.zip.

OK, all a little complex, but this is the way the world turns round here.

So I think, there is still the need of the tools: datum editor, and map projection setting for us!

Where are they gone in Bentley Map?

Any suggestions for my future work flow?
