Hi,
I have dgn file with one design model (Default) and several map models. All map models have default model referenced and all maps are properly shown UNTIL new reference of the same (Default) model is attached. Then my previous reference dissapears, usually not immediately but when I try to move reference. I noticed that when the drawing model and map models are in two different dgn files everything works fine so my question is - are map models designed to work with references that are not in the same design file as map models or it is a some kind of error in my PowerMap (version 08.11.07.86)?
Are the reference file elements features of the Geospatial project that you have active ? If so, do these features have a min and/or max scale value ? I have ran into this before and it looks like the reference files are being turned off, but the features have a min/max scale factor that is causing these to disappear. Just a though ......

Yes, original "Default" model attachment is displayed. Also, when I reopen the file all attachments are displayed until I try to move them.
...after moving one of the additional "Default" model reference attachments, does performing "Save Settings" and entering "newfile" at the uStn> command prompt temporarily display your original "Default" model attachment? FWIW the "Map Manager" "is designed" to work with any models from the active design file or unattached ones as well. I think you may have uncovered a situation where duplicate attachments of the same model are not properly handled. Your test may help confirm this.

Try detach everything and reference back again and check also the levels if evrything are on, if that happens again I think there is something wrong with some of your configuration.
hope this help.
