Until now we have used Microstation Geographics v.8. We were using features and we use to add to some elements 2 or more features.
For example, we have a cadastre map. There are different elements on the map. Generally we can say that there are text elements which are usually a plot nr. and then there are line elements, which are usually boundaries between different plots.
We have seperated boundaries to different features depending on the origin of the boundary. Boundary which were digitized have feature "boundary-digitized" and boundaries which were surveyd in the field have feature "boundary-survey". But all these boundaries have a common feature "boundary". Another boudnaries can also have feature "boundary-town" if the boundary is also a boundary between 2 towns or villages.
So if I want to see all the boundaries, I could turn on with help of map manager all the boundaries, no matter what origin. If I wanted to see only boundaries between different towns, I could show all features "boundary-town".
Now there were some changes in feature management in Powermap V8i. Is there any possibily how to use more then one feature on one element?
There may also be other way how to do this. I must admit that we are not big experts, when it comes to GIS funcionalities of Powermap, so if there is any other idea how to do the same thing, please let me know.
Thanks Martin
Bentley Map (and PowerMap) allow only one feature type to be assigned to each feature instance.
