Point Cell Features

I've just created a cell feature using the Geospatial Admin (GSA) the feature needs to be a point feature and rotate to the view, would also like it to be scaleable as well ... not a fixed scale as it will be plotted at different scales.

I have a number of questions ....

1. When creating the cell to be used to represent this point feature I would like to use different colours .... say green fill then a black outline then maybe another red background element .... when placing this feature it ignores the cells symbology and overrides it using current active settings upon placement....

2. Ignoring the fact that it looks nothing like I was wanting I now go about creating a map in Bentley Map to thematic symbolize it ..... I set up some rules and set the cell scale to 100 and some colour .... now as i zoom in and out the cells disappear... and it seem to have scaled the cells about a point away from their origin ? I'm realy confused this should have been rather basic.

Need a point cell that scales and rotates to the active scale and maintains the cell libraries symbology any idea?

  • Jamo;

    When you created the cells, did you create them as 'graphical' or 'point' cells in the cell library ?

    For the feature definition, did you set a min/max scale ? Also this seems to go back to the cell definitons, if the location changes. Is there any view rotations you are applying to the data after you have created instances in the drawing ?

    Maybe send me the cell library and the XFM schema file ( xml file)  and I can look at it.
