work flow for linking imported database records

We are in the process of moving from GeoGraphics to BentleyMap (with BentleyWater).  I am concerned about a workflow that we had using GeoGraphics.  Maybe someone can get me going in the right direction to accomplish the same goal.

We have information (leak/repair information) that is produced in a separate database.  Then it has been imported into the mapping system, cells placed, and the data record linked to the cell.  These cells (circles) are then set up to be available in our map viewer (GeoWeb Publisher).

In the past, each month the new information is submitted to our office and it would be imported into the database used by GeoGraphics.  We would then use the Visual SQL Query Builder to build a query to get a list of the new records.  The result shows up in the format used for "Review Database Attributes of Element." Next we go through the results, place the appropriate cell, and do an attach linkage making sure that the Database dialog box was set for "Linkage Mode: Duplicate."  By having the database mode set to duplicate the imported records were maintained.

What is the equivalent workflow in Bentley Map?  The above workflow does not work in Bentley Map.

The database linage mode does not set to duplicate – it wants to stay at Information.  And when I do an “Attach” from the query result box it creates a NEW record DUPLICATING the record already in the database.

In BentleyMap I can place the cell, but it wants me to fill in the data record information.  But I already have that information available – I don’t want to spend time manually copying it!
