This is a simple question. I have loaded Bentley MAP for Microstation. I just need to know if there is a way to start Map from within Microstation. I would like to be able to start it similarly to the way I can with InRoads (by calling an MDL) or similar method. Does anyone know?
Inroads ( and Geopak) basically do a workspace restart when starting up Bentley Map. They set the BENTLEY_MAP configuration variable and restart the application. You may be able to do this thru a MDL, I had seen some code on doing this, about 15 months ago, but I would have to look this up again

I can't say this will work in your situation. This is from Bentley Map SS1 and not SS2, thus the process may of changed some.

I don't think this is a good idea. There is also code in InRoads to properly initialize some components of Bentley Map that must otherwise be initialized at startup.
Can it be a CR that Benltey Map be loaded on demand while in MicroStation, like Decartes?
You can file a CR. Just file a Service Ticket and request the CR.
