Hi
I need what could be call a XFM version of the Topology Tool called "Associate Linkages"
I have some XFM based centoids with attributes.
Then with the Topology tool "Create Shapes" I create all the complex shapes and there is nice areas on each shape feature.
Basically I then just need to transfer the area value from the shape feature to an attibute on the centoid within the shape.
But how do I find the connection Shape->centroid
This is all going to end up in a vba application, so programming is not a problem -but jumping to MapManager will is not so desirable.

Greetings Erik,
The "Copy Centroid Business Properties To Polygon Feature Instances" example provides a minimum user interface...
...which allows the Bentley Map user to select a centroid (or point) feature class and polygon feature class then perform a copy of one or more selected business properties from the centroid to the surrounding polygon feature instance. With your VBA programming skills you should be able to modify this example to transfer the business properties in the other direction (e.g. from the polygons to the contained centroids).
Please let me know if you require further assistance.
Regards,
Jeff Bielefeld [Bentley]
Thanks Jeff,
I ought to have found the example before writing! --it is from the a workshop I attended during Be_Together 2010 :-(

Erik
Erik,
No worries and your memory is absolutely correct as that was in fact one of the VBA example applications I provided during the Bentley Map development workshop at the 2010 Be Together user conference. Hopefully the example will at least provide you a good starting point for your current needs. FWIW you can also reference this example with additional documentation in the "50. VBA Example Applications" chapter of the "Bentley Map - Development and Product Customization Guide" online resource.
BTW I hope to see you as well as many other Bentley Map developers at this years Bentley Developer Network Conference being held May 15-17 in Philadelphia.
I'll be there :-)
Just have to get my registration moved from BeTogether to BDN conference --think Phil has his hand on that.
