Is it possible to set PBS directly similar as PBA without setting many criteria with a lot value pairs?
Not that I know of.
Thanks. I read that it is a possible to exclude feature name from criteria but it doesn't work.
If the criteria is only used for a single feature, the feature_instance_alias part of the property name can be excluded. For example, if the Road feature's named criteria is road_2lane, it is defined as COMPARE("[Road:Type]","2-Lane",). If the criteria is only used for the Road feature, it could also be defined as COMPARE("[Type]","2-Lane",). See Criteria for additional information.
How to at least exclude the name so the same criteria can be used for many features which has the same property?
You should be able to :
COMPARE("[state]","Proposed","")
Always make sure that the spelling and character case is correct for the property and the string you are comparing it to. This trips up a lot of people.
Is there any reason this feature is missing for Oracle spatial features? If possible, it would be great if you could use a column in the table to set symbology, directly or by calculating the value using VBA or a cexpression. It would save huge amount of criterias and probably speed up reading.
Setting the color by just specifying [Color_column] could save 256 criterias for index colors and even more if you could set RGB values the same way.

I think we both should create a Service ticket for this feature to be implemented and reference the old CR 176902 which already is opened. In reality PBS is not property based at all as it is for PBA.
