You can also load a prj file into a GCS via a keyin in Map.. This will become the active GCS, then take a screen shot of the parameters, and fill this into your own GCS.

"MapCSUtilities ReadWKT <filespec>"

CADDcop, in the same boat but my interpretation of the prj t othe dty must be off.

Could you attach your dty for comparison?

I copied the seed dty file to a new folder on my network standards area and added the MS_GEOCOORDINATE_USERLIBRARIES to point to the path and filename.

When I open Map, there is no new entry in the GCS dialog box for me to use.

I noticed another variable - MS_GEOCOORDINATE_EDITUSERLIBS which is set to 1 but I cannot locate any info on this variable.

What am I missing? Found a solution - keep reading...

So here is where I decided to open one of the example geospatial files and voila, it showed me the new custom DTY item and I was then able to follow the process. I then opened a few files and the provided seed file and attached the coordinate system. When I export to Google Earth, it lined up like a champ. I aslo got some mister sid files to align, which was my goal from the outset.

Hi Caddcop

You can create "define" your own coordinate system in "GCS" with Bentley Map loaded and then load the new coordinate system within plain microstation. See further instruction in Bentley Map Help file.
