Hi
Placing an annotation aligned works nice in 2D, but I can't make it work in 3D. I have tried with setting the locks: Asc plane, Asc plane snap and sticky Z
Nothing of that seems to help. Annotation is placed along with the view.
So where is the hidden setting, that makes Annotation Align work in 3D ??
Hope somebody can help
TIA

Hi Erik
Are you sure that "Place Annotation" in 3D is a released software feature for Bentley Map?

You are correct, it appears that the Align method places text aligned to the view rather than the element. I don't know if it's possible to change this behaviour.
So can we conclude that one of the following two statements is right ??:
1. Works as designed!: Placing an annotation aligned in a 3D design file has never been intended!
2. Oops! Something does not work as we thought!
If #1 is right I will file a CR, if #2 is correct I may have to file a SR.
:-)

Erik,
I have added your name and details to the existing Trouble Report for this issue (#288841). The Development staff had reviewed the command in the past and has tested some possible solutions.
A potential way to make it work for now could be with AccuDraw on to align the text properly, then move it into position.
Is there are reason - and asking because I come from another realm and not mapping - but here at theis office - all maps that are 3d are refrenced into a 2d file for annotation. Annotation are never placed in the 3d file as that is the file where we create the models not annotate them.
