Hey All,
I'm racking my brain trying to get a large scale, high resolution google earth pro image to effectively import into my microstation drawing. I need a large area and I need to be able to zoom in close enough to see railroad track ties. The only thing I've seen so far is how to bring in a drawing using the 3D method and having that image be black and white. This isn't what I need. We have other drawings that have aerial images attached but they're of poor quality and I can't zoom in far enough.
I know there is a way to do this and have the google image brought in as tiles, but I have no idea how to do this, yeat alone make it so it's georeferenced accordingly. Any help would be great!
Hi,
I read an article here, how to get a coloured image . Use a bit more the search from the forum.

That's right Derval, by default a monochrome image will be created and located in the same folder as the DGN file. To get a color image, in Google Earth select File > Save > Save Image... and overwrite the existing JPG file that the Capture command created.
- By copyright, Google Earth does not provide any higher resolution than the default output. Use the zoom factor in Google Earth to achieve the best possible scale for your area of interest.
- You should not alter the zoom-scale after usng the Capture Google Earth Image command. This will ensure that the same scale color image is created.
- Set the MicroStation View Attributes Display Style to Smooth.
- You will have to close & re-open or exit and re-initialize the DGN file to see the color image.
