Why does Text features not change size when changing Plot Scale and resetting the feature

Hi

This is so strange that I hardly can believe that is designed this way !

When placing a text feature that has "Apply Drawing Scale" checked the size of the text is correctly scaled acording to the present Plot Scale, But when changing the plot scale and resetting all features Cells and annotation are scale acording to the new Plot Scale --but text features keep thiere originally size.

It can't be right !

  • Hi Erik,

The only explanation I can see is to make difference between text features and annotations.  The “Apply Drawing Scale” only applies on Text Feature on Placement. If I remember well, for Cell feature, it will update only if the Annotation option is set “On” in the cell model of the cell library.

As workaround (not so great, I agree), before placing Text Feature, set Annotation Scale on and manage scaling of this feature with MS Drawing Scale dialog. See following steps:

    1. Go to Settings > Drawing Scale
    2. Set Annotation Scale to ON
    3. Place features
    4. Then, if you change annotation scale, it will update scale of placed feature in the same time.
    5. Otherwise, you can scale text features by using MS Manipulate Scale tool.

I will address an internal report about this behavior.

    Best Regards,

    This is a test

  • Hi Sebastien,

I agreee the suggested solution with use of annotations scale is not so greate :-)

If one is not carefull with turning annotaion on and off on the right moments, one ends up with text a 1000 times too big :o)

I do read you answer the way that it is known that text-features are not 'plot scaled' while annotations and cells are (if "Apply drawning scale" is checked offcause)

And I do read that you wiil file an Trouble Rapport concerning this issue.

Correct me if I mis-read your answer
