ArcGIS Server Token Authentication

Had some discussion with some subject matter experts here regarding this and here is what they had to say:

There are two things identified... one involves WMS and the other involves ArcGIS Server. For the latter, our ProjectWise Connector for ArcGIS connects directly to an ArcGIS server (in fact, it is the only Bentley product that does so). But this looks more like a WMS issue.  MicroStation on its own does read WMS, so no problem there. However, it does not accept the token authentication (as it applies to WFS). It seems that there is an actual hardware device that handles this (in fact, we know that some places use it to confirm transactions). Some information regarding this can be found starting on:

We are not sure how this would make its way into MicroStation (or Bentley Map, which would actually be more applicable) without customization. If you are interested in further discussing the topic, though, we do invite you to the Geospatial Desktop community forum, as Maria mentions.
