I am working with a process where I have Bentley Map Design files, and I want to export the XFM feature information to another format like MapInfo TAB or other GIS format. I have tested this to work with the File | Export | GIS Data Types | TAB

RE: Is Bentley Map automated XFM export possible?

Hi Regan,

it's possible in my opinion, but as usually there are some tiny details which can make the solution more complex.

The most simple way is to drive the export process by key-ins. Search Bentley Map documentation for gdi export key-in, you can use it e.g. in a batch process job, but Bentley Map GUI will be active in this case. To start Bentley Map in a background, may be OLE Automation can be used.

If key-in will be not enough, you can use GeoDataInterchangeAPI accessible from NET addin. By default the add-in is started from Bentley Map GUI, but there is a way how to create addin as INITAPPS.

With regards,
