This tool will perform the following functions:
1. Take an XML data schema exported from Esri and create a Bentley Map XML schema
2. Take any Bentley Map XML schema and apply an A/E/C CAD Symbology spreadsheet.
And, symbology can be applied to any Bentley Map XML schema.
The Bentley Symbology Integrator was originally designed to load the SDSFIE ESRI Geodatabase XML downloaded from http://www.sdsfieonline.org/ and create a Bentley Map XML schema. The tool will also take the Bentley Map schema file and apply a mapping spreadsheet with A/E/C CAD Symbology to the Bentley Map Schema (see included sample: BentleyMap-SDSFIE-AEC - Symbology Mapping.xlsx). This results in a fully complaint SDSFIE (data) and A/E/C Cad (symbology) Bentley Map environment which allows the user to work in an unified engineering / geospatial environment and optimize the data sharing process between civil/engineering design and the owner/operator community.

Jan - It should pop up a dialog which asked if user want to add missing node or not. GSA does it before for missing nodes. Yes, it is a bug. and annoying. I do not suggest any manual editing since it could be a source of corrupting schema. Thank you Jan.
Oto + Sebastien: Just a guess: There seems to be a bug that if a schema was created in V8i SS3 and is opened in GSA V8i SS4, ESRI File Geodatabase Connection graphical source is not displayed in the tree but no option to upgrade the schema is offered. I suppose a simple manual modification solves the problem.
GSA > Graphical Sources > Esri file GeoDatabase Connection. For more details, read documentation in Defining Graphical Sources. If any issue occurs then, do not hesitate to contact Technical support or submit a post in the forum section.
Where to look for it in GSA?
Oto - File GeoDatabase is available (New) in last release on Bentley Map V8i Ss4.
Do not see such option in Geospatial administrator.
Oto - Though not directly related to SHP files - with Bentley map ss4 - you can use the Geospatial Administrator to connect to a File Geodatabase and then by running the bottom portion of the Symbology Integrator Tool, apply your symbology spreadsheet to that.
SHP to XFM import would be also nice to have feature.
