The Register Features command in the Geospatial Administrator (GSA) that is delivered with Bentley Map V8i includes some new features and fixes. When moving from Bentley Map V8i (SELECTSeries 3) to Bentley Map V8i (SELECTSeries 4) all features in a spatial database project should be re-registered to take advantage of these new features and fixes. In fact, you may experience query and post errors if you don't re-register the features.
These errors are more likely to occur when your Graphical Source is a Spatial Data Source, such as Oracle or SQL Server Spatial. To complete this step, open the Graphical Source in the GSA, right-click on the Named Connection, and select the Register Features option. Follow the steps in each of the Registration dialog boxes to complete the process.
Once this process is complete the Graphical Source will be updated to the Bentley Map V8i (SELECTseries 4) to include the new features and fixes. You may then Query and Post as-before the upgrade.
See the Geospatial Administrator Help File's Working with Spatial Databases | Defining Graphical Sources topic for more information.
