The attached macro provides an alternate method of searching for XFM features.
This macro uses query files (*.QRY) to define parameters called by the macro. This may include such items such as the feature table to search, the attribute name, the title of the dialog and so forth. (Note: ZOOM is not implemented in the macro.)
Download and extract the contents of the zip file.
XFM_ATTR_QUERY.zip
The sample design file contains parcels, addresses and comms data for a few city blocks.
Open the sample file provided and run the macro. It will reads the folder pointed to by MAP_QRY_DIR and loads the names of the found QRY files.
When a query is selected, the macro will populate a new dialog with parameters defined in the QRY file and provide the option to put the results in a selection set or in the Data Browser. Clicking the Run button will execute the query.
This MVBA is provided as an example only and does not come with support. Feel free to modify to suit your project.
