If you receive an “error parsing capabilities response” error when using Raster Manager to attach a WMS Server to your Bentley Map workspace, the problem is the lack of a specific Geographic Coordinate System (GCS) in the MicroStation GCS Library. To correct the problem, you will have to upgrade to a later version of Bentley Map (standalone), or install a later version of MicroStation that includes the specific EPSG:3857 Geographic Coordinate System. MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) v08.11.09.292 and later includes this GCS component.
The problem:
Attach a WMS Server URL to a Google Imager Server using Bentley Map V8i (SELECTseries 2) or earlier:
The Solution:
Upgrade Bentley Map (standalone) or MicroStation, to a version that includes MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) 08.11.09.292 or greater. These later versions include the EPSG:3857 coordinate system in the MicroStation library that is required to view Google and Bing Map web services.

If you receive a notice in the MicroStation Message Center indicating that the “WMS Map bounding box must have a size greater than zero”, you can reset the size manually in the Map Definition tab.
Result: Texas map image attached from WMS layer
