There are two solutions for importing coordinates from a text file as points into the open design file.
Method 1 - Use MicroStation's Import Coordinates tool from the Terrain Model ribbon group. You can find this group in the Drawing workflow. In V8i product, the Import Coordinates tool is found in the XYZ tool box.
Define the filename containing the XY(Z) coordinates, what element to create (point, text or cell) the order and the view. Then click Process. The imported points are added to the file using your current element attributes.
Method 2 - Use a Bentley Map's Interoperability dialog and import a VRT file as described in Help. The benefits of this method is that the points become intelligent Bentley Map feature with optional business properties. The business properties would be additional columns in your source data.
