Bentley Geo Web Publisher - select map elements highlight colour

Hi,

Sorry to crash your forum but still no Geo Web Publisher option when asked to pick option.

We have our highlight colour set to Fuchsia in the map author - viewer section (at the top). However when we select elements in the website they mix with the colour of our symbols.

We have the zoom area fill transparency set to zero but still no difference.

The layer is also at the top of display order so is not being covered by any other layers.

Any help welcome.

  • Hi Leah,

I believe that you intended (Map) 'Viewer' (Properties) as it exists within the Site Author (not Map Author).
If I am mistaken, please elaborate in your next reply.

You are then using the 'Select Map Elements' tool from the Mapviewer, and this applies the highlight color to the selected objects from a given map layer.

    * Yes, the Zoom Area settings do not have an effect on the Select Map Elements tool. These will affect display of the area demarcated during 'Window Area' tool (zoom) operations.

Is it that your symbols are also Fuchsia?
What is the nature of the symbols, are they on another map layer and what is the nature of this layer in relation to that of the selected layer?

We might expect the need to adjust the display order of the symbols layer, so as to display naturally above that of the layer being selected from.
This would be the case already, if the symbols naturally already display above the selected layer, irrespective of the selection operation.

(Please clarify which layer is at the top of display order)

If you are able to include a demonstrative before and after graphic in your reply, this would aid understanding.

    thanks,
    Nels

  • Hi Nels,

Thank you for your reply. Yes sorry my mistake it's the Viewer properties in the Site Author.

Our symbols are part of an ODBC layer and are .png files. They are blue and yellow in colour but we seem to get dark purple and light purple for the blues and pink for the yellows when they are selected.

The ODBC layer in question is at the top of the display order tab in the Map Author.

    Thanks,

    Leah

  • Hi Nels,

Thank you very much for your help. We have read the wiki and plan to make some Vector DPR files, hopefully this will solve our issue.

    Thanks again,

    Leah

    Hi Nels,

We have been trying to get this to work both on our own and with the help of our IT tech but with no luck. We feel we have checked every obvious reason as to why it isn't working including permissions and file locations. We are getting the above error. Do you have any idea what this is?

Below is hopefully our cell library (if this has worked) just so you can check we have done this correctly if you need to.

    Thank you,

    Leah

  • Hi Leah,

The cell library came through and seems not to be the source of the problem:

Regarding the failed conversion, please let us know:

    - GWP version

    - Operating System details

    - was the batch file or command prompt run 'as administrator'

    please include:

-batch file if applicable (rename to *.txt for upload)

    - (otherwise) please include iDPRCNV syntax

    thanks,

    Nels

  • Hi Nels,

Thank you for your help, I'm glad the cell library is ok.

    - GWP version V8i (SELECT series 5)

    - Operating system - Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit

    - Yes the IT tech ran it as administrator to check that

    -

    SET GWPP=C:\Users\LHamilton\Downloads\
    SET INNP=C:\Users\LHamilton\Downloads\
    SET OUTP=C:\Users\LHamilton\Downloads\

    %GWPP%iDPRcnv.exe -type=CELL -input=%INNP%BGSSymbols.cel -output=%OUTP%symbols\\ -trace

    pause

    Kind regards,

    Leah

  • Hi Leah,

Based on the GWPP definition, it would seem that the idprcnv.exe has merely been downloaded to the \Downloads\ directory.

    Is this the case?

If so, please run the Setup_BentleyGeoWebPublisherClient_08.11.13.26.exe (as administrator) and choose an appropriate installation path. When prompted, select the 'custom' option, in order to specify the 'Pre-Publishing tool' option, which is not engaged by default.

    thanks,
    Nels
