What's new in this release? Improved Background Maps In ProjectWise Geospatial V8i, we changed the background map engine included in ProjectWise Geospatial to use more advanced technology, that is, Bentley Geo Web Publisher. This new engine allows supporting more formats in the background maps as well as offering superior performance and robustness. The supported formats are: - DGN (Static or Live) - ESRI Shapefile - Oracle Spatial - Web Mapping Service (OGC WMS) - ODBC Spatial - Map Info file - DPR. It is possible to consume data stored inside ProjectWise as well data stored on disk or inside a standard relational database. ESRI Personal Geodatabase Support ProjectWise Geospatial V8i now supports ESRI Personal Geodatabase. Therefore it is now possible: - To store ESRI Personal Geodatabase in ProjectWise - To Scan the extent of an ESRI Personal Geodatabase (no need of an ESRI ArcGIS Desktop ArcView license) - To Scan the relationship between ESRI MXD (map document) and ESRI Personal Geodatabase (ESRI ArcGIS Desktop ArcView license) - To attach ESRI Personal Geodatabase stored in ProjectWise to an MXD while inside ArcMap. Linear Referencing of Documents and Folders/Project ProjectWise Linear Referencing expands the ProjectWise Geospatial capability with the ability to reference document and folders/project linearly along a linear asset. This can be used to help manage a project happening on a linear asset; it can be used to add linear referencing information to as-built data allowing to quickly finding this data later on, etc. For example find me the Projects we worked on for the past two years that located at 50 miles along highway 10. Or find me the permits document delivered between kilometer 50 and 100 along track id 10. Or find me all the design documents produced at stationing 50KM. Therefore it is now possible: - To create linear feature inside ProjectWise - To create linear location and assign them to documents and folder - To search using Linear Referencing Criteria Thanks Francois
