I have installed Bentley Geo Web Publisher server component and licenced it (the licence manager says licence is activated), but every time I try to view examples, the service stops and logfile says it stops because of licence expiration. Also, when trying to view examples, I get the following error message: ERROR: Unable to load the map definition file: 2fe1933d-79b3-47b7-8f33-b789fdf432fa 'text' is an unexpected token. The expected token is '"' or '''. Line 1, position 63. The server I use is Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (64-bit), IIS version is 8.5.9600.16384. I have also Microsoft ODBC driver 11 for SQL server and Microsoft SQL server 2014.
We have the same issue with node-locked GWP licence. It seems the GWP service is unable to checkout or use the already checked out license activated from other account as service is run under "network service" user. It seems it works correctly only with SELECT server. We need Geowebpublisher Selectseries 10 which would use CONNECT licensing as there are still no other alternatives from Bentley for WMS publishing.
Please see this Wiki, https://communities.bentley.com/products/geospatial/server/w/geospatial_server__wiki/11325/gwp9905-geo-web-publisher-license-components
where Geo Web Publisher License Components is explained. In Additional Notes you will find the following lines:
What does it mean node-locked is not available if customers have perpetual licenses for GWP? Also where is benefit of using GWP with SELECT as GWP is no longer updated and no replacement exists.
It means that the GWP server has to be able to communicate with the SELECTserver.
It does seem to work with checked-out license after all just need to not forget check-out when it ends.
