Hi, I hope someone can help.
I am attempting to load an aerial raster mapping layer into the background mapping definition file in ProjectWise. I have created the connection and the graphical source and chosen the raster files (1000 ecw files of 500k-1mb locally cashed on the integration server where the geo web publisher modules are installed).
When i come to add a layer in the map author and choose the source it says “please wait while the server is processing the request”, then after a few minutes it says “Unable to access the Geo Web Publisher server”. Has anyone had any experience of this/know why i cant add the layer?
Thanks in advance,
Rob Farrell
Have you tried to use the delivered GWP sample web site called Map Viewer ? I usually try this first to see if I have correctly defined the map, performance, etc. before I push it out to the PW users as a background map.

No not aware there was one. Does that test the geospatial in ProjectWise also? How do i publish to/access this?
Thank you for your reply

If you were not aware of one, I suspect that you are not using GWP, but the 'lite' version that is delivered with the Geospatial Management server, am I correct ?
If you are using the full GWP install, then go to the GWP examples under the Start Menu.
Then select the Map Viewer from the left pane.
Which then you can select the map definition (which is what you saved in the Map Author) and display it.
Hi Jerry,
I don't have that option in my menu. I'm using select series 1.
It seems that the server times out. I have requested our IT check the config file and let me know if there is something we can adjust (i don't have direct access)
If the server times out then this is usually a indication that a license could not be obtained from the license server. You may want to have the IT people check the licenses on the license server..
