Having trouble greating search in Bentley SiteAuthor - GWP V8i S4 version 08.11.11.61
When greating searches program crashes and site will never reopen again.
Problem occures when i apply search setting and save settings or try to publish. Program will stop working no error messages are displayed. Program shows only sign "not responding"
I think this is related with a known issue
Please check if the associated map of this website has a certain type of Layer group structure created with Map Author
For example this structure below will cause a similar problem, the dat will not open and hang when opened the site author
Workaround for example structure:1) Create new 2-level layer group above 3-level layer group and save.2) Site Author will open .dat file without problems

My MapAuthor tree looks like this. I tried yor suggestion - it did not work. yesterday i discovered that the crash is more likely to happen when i'm greating searches. At the moment there is no vorrys if site crashes because i'm at the begginning of development.
in the future i would like to be sure that something this does not happen when I have full operational page.

I somewhat misunderstood what lead to the crash in site author, my suggestion wasn’t related…
To be sure, you created a search, applied settings and when you published the website it crashed (or hanged)?
Is it something that you can systematically replicate? Can you detail the steps / configuration?
I made new site. i made it simple - left panel as display and center left viewer. Saved as new site and published it. I can see it in ie explorer (32bit version). It runs ok.
now the problem occured again when i made modification to the map i'm using. Afther modificating map (added new automated idpr layer) i made save to map and refreshed it. When i viewed if change is displaied in IE then there was no update to see. When i went to site author and tried to refresh the newly made site and it hanged again!
i trie to make today night new map and see if the problem still exist. Maybe there is some problem with data connection with MapAuthor
So the Site Author Hang is caused after adding a new iDPR layer in Map Auhtor, does it happen for all iDPR layers or just this one? And what is the type of the iDPR layer, does it use a db connection? I suggest checking this and also see the iDPR log.
Ok made following - removed all databases from automated iDPR. Still crashed.
Went throug all 80 log files and discovered seed file errors in 10% of them. I called to the supllier of drawings and asked them to repair faulty level names in these drawings. They will make it and i will have results tommorow.
At the moment i removed these faulty drawings and now it-is ok. So big thanks for this advice.
one thing that still bothers me is why at the begginnig all was ok and at one point it started hanging?

Hmm. this is strange program in terms of level managing. i again managed to crash Site Author and came back to the first answere you had posted at fist. i had mistakenly made a three level group above 2 level group, and it crashed!
Are there any plans of fixing this matter?
