Hi everyone!
We are trying the GWP and experiencing some problems with importing data that contain local symbols. E.g. we cannot use geometry from dgn layers if name of the layer contain Russian symbols. Is it a known issue? Is renaming the only workaround?
Regards,
Sergey
Hi Sergey,
Is it the case that you can't use those symbols in graphical source names in the GWP Administration tool? What GWP version do you have installed?
Carlos
Hi Carlos,
No, it's not the problem. I mean, we cannot publish data taken from dgn files, which layers contain Russian symbols. The operation sequence is:
Nothing residing in those layers is processed/published. Also, if the source file path or name contain Russian symbols, they are also replaced by "?" in the log file.
I suppose, symbols from other languages also cause such problems, so how can it be solved? Can you help?
Sincerely,
P.S. We are trying the latest GWP V8i version available in selectservice.
I noticed there is no seed file defined, does it make a difference if you specify one containing those same levels?
I know that for at least Swedish, Turkish and Finnish characters it is working in SS4. Can’t recall if we had a similar problem in SS3. What I could do is to test it at my end if you upload an example dgn and seed.
Hi Carlos!
The workflow moved me out of this case for a long time, but I am back with my problem (unfortunatelly). Could you check if import goes well with the attached files. One file has graphics located on levels named in Russian, while the other file have the same graphics located on levels named in English. I suppose, if the problem (bug?) exists, graphics from the first file will not be published.
Thank you in advance! Regards,
