I can't get the geoweb publisher mapviewer to automatically kick off the installation on a client machine. Is there a way to do it manually?
Please make sure you have read the pre-reqs for the Mapviewer in the GWP server readme file. If you have met these requirements, then the user installing the mapviewer cab that comes from the server must be logged in as a administrator on the machine. If this is not acceptable, then you will need to install the mapviewer from the delivered msi file, as part of a software update to the client machine. Once again the person installing the mapviewer needs to be logged in as or run as an Administrator.

Where is the msi located? For some reason this particular client doesn't get the prompt for the install.
e.g. for Geo Web Publisher 08.11.11.61, this will be within the client installation download:
bgpcl08111161en.exe
> BentleyGeoWebPublisherMapViewer.msi

The same is for the 08.11.09.37 version also.. This gets installed with the GWP Client software as Nelson has pointed out. The GWP Client software is the component that installs the site author, map author, etc., but these do not need to be installed on the end users machine, you just need to install the Map Viewer from the referenced msi file above.
Already on it. Any way to install with a weblink. I hit the msi with a link but it's dependant on the data1.cab being available too.
I have never tried it that way. Not sure if it can be done that way or not. Look up "install msi via web link" Microsoft has a web page dedicated to this.
