Geo Web Publisher license has two components: the server license and the client license. Geo Web Publisher activation requires that both the server license and the client license are available via the SELECTserver license pool.

These two licenses need to be acquired and activated.

Multiple methods exist for investigation of a Geo Web Publisher implementation's activation status.

    Via the License Management Tool:

Investigation of activation status should begin with the delivered License Management Tool  ( ...\GeoWebPublisher\LicenseTool.exe) :

To Verify the License from a Command Prompt:

Additional investigation can be performed by querying the server directly.

In a command prompt, navigate to the directory in which Bentley Geo Web Publisher is installed -- for example, C:\Bentley\GeoWebPublisher\ .

    1. Enter: PubServer -licinfo

If a valid license is in use, a message similar to the following will be displayed:

The server license of this product is licensed to:
    Customer Name
    Bentley SELECT Server Name
The client license of this product is licensed.
Copyright (c) (year) Bentley Systems, Incorporated

If no valid license was found, the following message will be displayed:

    Bentley Geo Web Publisher V8i
Server license not yet activated, X days left.

Via the Geo Web Publisher LogViewer:

Status entries are recorded within the active iteration of the GeoWebPublisherLogging.log

These and all Geo Web Publisher logs can be examined via the delivered Log Viewer:

    Additional Notes:

    • use of SELECT Server requires a SELECT agreement, 'node locked' licenses are not available for Geo Web Publisher
    • License Checkout should not be performed on either the Geo Web Publisher Sever or Client licenses.
    • The licensing mode works with SELECT Server V8i; For more information about the SELECTserver and Product Activation, please review the Licensing Wiki on:
