ProjectWise iDesktop for ArcMap
This module is part of the Geospatial iDesktop. It is installed on a Client machine where ProjectWise Explorer and ArcMap have been installed. It integrates ArcMap & ProjectWise, it is an extension that allows manipulation of ArcMap files using ProjectWise.
Once the installation is completed, verify the presence of the Bentley ProjectWise Extension toolbar is present in ArcMap.
Right click the main bar in ArcMap or go to Customize > Toolbars > Bentley ProjectWise Extension to activate the toolbar.
Once the toolbar is enabled it can be docked. Click the first tool to login into an existing ProjectWise datasource.
This will enable the other tools in the Toolbar.
Login: Login into an existing ProjectWise datasource
Logout: Logout of the current ProjectWise datasource Login Information: Displays information on the active connection to a ProjectWise datasource
New ArcMap Document: Creates a new .mxd map project in a PW folder and opens it in ArcMap.
Open ArcMap Document: Opens a .mxd map project in ArcMap from a Project Wise vault. The .mxd project can either be Checked Out or Copied Out, the default option being Copy Out.
Update Arc Map Document Server Copy: Updates the ProjectWise server copy of the active MXD/MXT file.
Add Data: Adds data from the active ProjectWise datasource to the current
Add External Data to ProjectWise: Launches the Import Document dialog box.
Export Arc Map Document: Exports selected ArcMap document and all of its constituting files as does the standard ArcMap Export command and also rewrites the data source (path to layers in ArcMap document) to include export settings and export destination.
