The 'Norton Double Power Creep Model (N2PC), extended with Mohr-Coulomb and Tension cut-off failure criterion (N2PC-MCT)’ is an elasto-plastic viscoplastic constitutive model for rocks. This model is particularly useful for studying both the time-dependent (long-term) deformation and stress analysis to predict failure and damage of rock structures. In this month’s Geotechnical Analysis Coffee Corner, we will:

  • provide an overview of the model ingredients,
  • detail the material parameters and their calibration, and
  • present a practical application to show the usage of the model

Bentley Coffee Corners are open to all Bentley users, free of charge. One learning unit is applied to each participant’s Bentley Transcript for self-reporting. To view prior sessions, watch the Recordings On-Demand.
