I'm currently working with Plaxis2D V20, in particular with the 'PlaxFlow' module, to perform a steady state seepage analysis for a tailings dam, without deformation analysis (Calculation type 'flow only'). The dam has a low permeability clay

RE: Plaxis2D Max Step

Dear Mauricio,

Very high hydraulic conductivity ratios (> 1E6) are usually very difficult to solve, especially when having large gradients in groundwater head. Sometimes it helps to refine the mesh in the area to have a better capture of the groundwater head gradients.

If that does not solve it, can you please file a support request/service request? You can do this here: https://apps.bentley.com/srmanager/ProductSupport

Please include the project file. Use the Pack Project option from the File menu to compress your PLAXIS data with all the relevant information.

Kind regards,
