Dear Roumaissa,

The specific error you encountered is described in our Reference manual and it indicates a numerical issue encountered during the calculation. First you will need to inspect Output results to try and pinpoint the location of the issue.

In order to find out what the mechanism for failure is, and so possibly determining the cause, these Output plots should be inspected:

deformed mesh
total displacements (shaded plot)
incremental displacement (shaded plot and/or arrows)
total deviatoric strain (shaded plot)
incremental shear strains (shaded plot)
Plastic Points plot
when applicable: excess pore pressure plot

A combination of these plots will usually give insight into what is happening.

Thank you very much sir for your answers and your help,

personally I have the error "Load advancement procedure fails. [Error code: 103]" during the activation phase of embedded beam in the intersection part between tunnel and gallery??

Dear Nadeem,

In principle, you can simply deactivate any volume/surface generated from the tunnel in Staged construction, thus not affecting the calculation. Note that this needs to be done for each calculation phase that this is considered.

However, it is not clear via your message what the error is, therefore it will be easier to check your project directly.

Thanks for your reply.

I have corrected the insertion point which has resulted in the correct sequence. However, I am having a problem with geometry as part of the gallery is sticking out in the tunnel which I can't intersect and delete. Also, it causes an error during the calculation.

Any suggestion on intersection of tunnels whilst using the tunnel designer would help.

Dear Nadeem,

From the screenshot, it is difficult to understand what is going on.

In principle, the start of the tunnel is the location where the insertion point is created for the Tunnel Designer. In Structures mode, this can be found in the Model explorer, under the Tunnels group, by expanding the tree of the relevant tunnel created.
