Dear Sir/Mdm,
I am currently running many commands through a p3d.log script using the command runner window in PLAXIS 3D. However, as I am running over 10 000 command lines, the time required for the file to finish running is quite long. May I know if there is any way for me to speed up the process? Thank you very much!
Dear Stefanos,
Great thanks for your feedback =)
Dear Wang,
I believe that all the comments from Rushan are very useful so please check them.
In general, we see a performance improvement when the Update visualization during execution is unchecked so that the canvas does not need to be updated each time. However, 10000 commands are quite a lot so you can consider doing some clean up to have only the necessary commands for creating the project. The Expert>Examine command option can assist (as Rushan mentions).
One thing to point out when using a toggle is to remember to remove it afterwards in order to be able to use the software normally again.

Dear Wang Haode,
I suppose you have already used all possibilities of Examine command option and cleaned up your list.
Then, I think, you have switched off option Update visualization during execution:
Finally I can suggest you to use another great feature of PLAXIS — switching off working area, Selection and Model explorers during commands runner is working. The algorythm:
1. Enter the folder where the PLAXIS startup file is stored. By default it is C:\Program Files\Bentley\Geotechnical\PLAXIS 3D CONNECT Edition V20.
2. Find the Plaxis3DInput.exe file and create a shortcut through the right mouse button menu:
Windows 10 will give you a warning:
We press Yes and put a shortcut on the desktop.
3. Go to the Properties of the created shortcut through the right mouse button menu. In the Target field, at the end after the quotes, we add the following text through a space: --NO_CONTROLLERS:
The Target field should have this text:
"C:\Program Files\Bentley\Geotechnical\PLAXIS 3D CONNECT Edition V20\Plaxis3DInput.exe" --NO_CONTROLLERS
4. Click Apply and OK. Now, if you run the program through this shortcut, you will see a window without a working area, without Selection and Model explorers:
You can rename the shortcut to use this option later on. For example, "Plaxis3DInput.exe_light" or "PLAXIS without windows".
5. Finally we open Commands runner (Ctrl+F9), open a file with a list of commands (Ctrl+O) and start its execution (F9). Result:
The example is from Tutorial 5 log file.In green modes, Phases explorer is displayed in PLAXIS 3D. In PLAXIS 2D the Phases explorer field is not displayed.
After the code is executed, we save the project, close PLAXIS and launch the project through the standard shortcut (launch) file.
Hope it helps you.
