I am running Fully Coupled Flow Deformation analysis for an open excavation, and I found that the hydraulic gradient in excavated area with an increase in excavation depth is extremely different from Consolidation analysis. For the consolidation analysis, hydraulic gradient increases with the increase in excavation level, however, it is sometimes rise or decrease in Fully Coupled Flow Deformation. Could you explain this behavior of Fully Coupled Flow Deformation for me?
