Hi,
I have modelled Pile in Lpile, Wallap, and Plaxis 3D. Pile moment distribution in Lpile and wallap is similiar, however, Plaxis shows different behaviour.
Ground condition. Very soft clay, over soft clay over dense to very dense then rock.
Lpile and wallap moment gradually reduce to 0 as the depth increase. While Plaxis 3D pile reverse side moment is evern greater than positive side. (clay modelled as undrained B).
Any idea why this happens ?
Dear John,
It is difficult to judge by these screenshots what is exactly modelled and why PLAXIS or the rest of the software give that response.
I would recommend you to submit the service request and send us the model so that we can better evaluate the results and why they show these high peaks in the bottom side. Then, one of our support engineers can help you in detail: https://apps.bentley.com/srmanager/ProductSupport
