How can I get rid of the labels of "Academic version" from my Plaxis 3D Input and Output screens? We obviously have the academic version but they just appear after the most recent update. Those labels make it very hard to do the simulation visually and ruin the output print-out like a nail in the eyes. I am not sure what is the point for using that labels when you are trying to encourage people to use your software but at the same time hindering their use and experience. It really sucks
Hello Mr. Long Vo. We are very sorry you believe the watermarks somehow block your simulation. If you could please contact our support team at https://apps.bentley.com/srmanager/ProductSupport with some screen captures of these, we will try to improve the appearance of the watermarks in order to make your experience much better. However we will not be removing the watermarks from the Academic versions. This is a company-wide policy, not only present in PLAXIS products. The reason is that we detected a high volume of commercial uses of the academic software. So we will try to improve their appearance, if you help us with the issues you're facing.
So, you are telling us not to use PLAXIS in academic research papers, as well? Because it is not acceptable to include PLAXIS outputs with those ugly watermarks in a manuscript in order to publish it in an academic journal.
Hello Tolga. No, I am not saying that at all. I understand you don't like the watermarks, but I am also sure you see the reason Bentley added them to Academic products. Have you seen V22? It has improvements to the watermarks and we are working on delivering a special functionality for researchers later in the year.
