Good day,
I would like to inform you in advance that I have no experience with Plaxis.
Our institute has 12 x PLAXIS 2D Suite Academic licenses. The idea is to set up a computer or server on which the numerical calculations would run in order to relieve or to free the local PCs. My question is:
Thanks in advanceAndré Vogel
Dear Stefanos,
many thanks your response.
Best regardsAndré
Dear André,
PLAXIS applications utilize the Bentley Licensing System. That means that since you have 12 x PLAXIS 2D licenses you can launch up to 12 PLAXIS sessions (Input/Output) in different PCs.
Note that with our latest PLAXIS version we have introduced a Calculation manager to allow for running multiple 2D and 3D projects without the need to open each project and click on calculate. Here is an informative video:Calculation manager for PLAXIS 2D and PLAXIS 3D - PLAXIS | SOILVISION Wiki - PLAXIS | SOILVISION - Bentley Communities
Regarding virtual machines, the idea is still the same, as in the end you can only launch one PLAXIS Input session per virtual machine and you can use the same Bentley account in different virtual machines.
Please note the following on how we compute the usage:How remote usage is recorded - Licensing and Activation Wiki - Licensing and Activation - Bentley Communities
