Highly appreciate if someone can share possible solution.
I am trying to calibrate Plaxis with DeepSoil. DeepSoil gives higher PSA at the surface.

Plaxis gives lower PSA at the surface

I suspect that material input in Plaxis do not correspond

RE: Calibrating Plaxis with DeepSoil

Dear Stefanos,

I discoverd that both DeepSoil and Shake have almost same material graph. However, graph from Plaxis is far from these two programs. I have adjusted parameters to be closer and similar to DeepSoil, I am not sure if parameters I use in Plaxis are realistic, this applis just to Small strains.

This graph is close enough to DeepSoil and Shake. I am not very sure if there is another way to calibrate material property in Plaxis.

I would say these material properties in Plaxis seems ok, but not close to DeepSoil and Shake.

DeepSoil and Shake programs are suggeste by Micha van der Sloot in one of his webinars. If there is another software or another way to calibrate Plaxis model, I would be very happe to know it.

Yes, I saw this table, and I was checking thses values with 14 Free Vibration and Earthquake, I am lost why input G0ref is not the same as calculated

Since I was not able to find match between Plaxis and DeepSoil, I am trying to find values from Plaxis graph to input in DeepSoil.

I am very exited to see if that will work out.

That is rather odd because on Material Models manual there are chapters by constitutive model, e.g. for Handerning Soil with small-strain stiffness:

Can you see those?

RE: Calibrating Plaxis with DeepSoil

Dear Stefanos,

Agree, I have reviewed the entire document, cannot find single table where material parameters are defined.

Is there another document that I have not seen.

RE: Calibrating Plaxis with DeepSoil

Dear Hijatullah,

Concerning the material definitions, I would recommend checking our Reference and Material Models manual.

I agree that typically different software may define similar parameters in a different way, so I would first get all definitions per software at hand and then try to convert them in the calibration.
