Cylinder foundation

Question

Hello everyone, 
 
 I would like to ask what is the more effective way to model a continuous cylinder foundation which is increasing in diameter from the top to the bottom. 
 As an example we want to set the diameter at the top equal to 10 m whereas at the bottom 20 m.

Dear Chris , 
 Could you please clarify what do you mean? How to do it geometrically? 
 If Yes, I think one of the simpliest way is to use cone command. 
 The description of this command you can find in Help menu &rarr; Command reference &rarr; Input commands reference &rarr; cone. Please, see Alternatives 4, 5 and 6 ( a truncated cone ). For example: 
 
 10 &mdash; bottom radius 7 &mdash; height 5 &mdash; top radius from (0 0 0) point in direction (0 0 1)
