I am trying to convert a triangulated surface in dfx format into a NURBS surface, as explained here: https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/plaxis-soilvision-wiki/45906/converting-triangulated-surfaces-in

RE: Wrong Z coordinantes scale when importing NURBS surface in PLAXIS

Hello Francisco,

I will check this to see if there is anything on our side.

Indeed, setting the proper units is important, but I can imagine you were not really working on mm.

RE: Wrong Z coordinantes scale when importing NURBS surface in PLAXIS

Martin,

Many thanks! I didn't notice that this was also happening on the X and Y scales. It is strange since I put the units in both Autocad and Rhino 6 as meters.

Anyway, it works for now as workaround

RE: Wrong Z coordinantes scale when importing NURBS surface in PLAXIS

If the X,Y and Z scales are off by 1000, may be the Step flle is defaulting to mm instead of m. Try importing the STEP file with a sale 0.001 and see if the X and Y are correct.
