Hi PLAXIS Support Team,
I am trying to convert a triangulated surface in dfx format into a NURBS surface, as explained here: https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/plaxis-soilvision-wiki/45906/converting-triangulated-surfaces-in-a-cad-software-for-efficient-modelling-in-plaxis-3d
However, when trying to import the STEP file into PLAIXS 3D, it seems that the software is wrongly scaling the Z coordinates by a factor of 1000. I reopened the STEP file in Rhino 6 and the scale seems to be OK. So I am guessing that the issues is something related to the way PLAXIS is importing the NURBS surface
I hope this can help to describe the issue.
Thanks
Francisco

Hello Francisco,
I will check this to see if there is anything on our side.
Indeed, setting the proper units is important, but I can imagine you were not really working on mm.
Martin,
Many thanks! I didn't notice that this was also happening on the X and Y scales. It is strange since I put the units in both Autocad and Rhino 6 as meters.Anyway, it works for now as workaround
If the X,Y and Z scales are off by 1000, may be the Step flle is defaulting to mm instead of m. Try importing the STEP file with a sale 0.001 and see if the X and Y are correct.
