Hi all,
I have used more than 1 BH details for this analysis but here I faced one problem as shown below in the screenshot.
So please tell how to assign soils in a more appropriate way to avoid the problem which is mentioned in the screenshot.
Thanks.
Nitha,
It has to do with the ordering of the soil strata in your borings. To correct it you will need to reorder the layers in all the borings.
The basic rules of using boreholes to define layers is that:
1. Each borehole contains every strata, even if the strata thickness is zero.
2. The strata in every borehole are in the exact same order.
So in you case you must have the high strength strata defined above the bottom two layers shown on the left of your figure. I'm not sure how you want the strata lines to be, but if you were to reorder the soil layers in ALL the borings such that the High strength layer is BELOW the brownish layer in the bottom left of your figure, the Plaxis interpretation would draw the top high strength down towards the bottom of BH1 rather than upwards to the top of layers where it is currently defined.
Figure out what layer is at the bottom and make sure that layer is at the bottom in ALL the borings.
