Greeting for everyone,
I am modeling an extraction well (using well element and GW boundary). I use Plaxis 2D and 3D with flow only (transient groundwater).
However, when I compare with the analytical method (Jacob and Thiems), the result shows different groundwater heads by increasing the time.
I have input the minimum head and discharge rate in m3/day for Plaxis 2D and 3D. As a matter of fact, the results from Plaxis show the same groundwater head levels by increasing time larger than 1 day while the analytical method showed that the groundwater head will be lowered by the time (> 1 day). Is there anything else I can do to solve this problem? Thank you for your support.
Dear Ari Surya Abdi,
It sounds like in the PLAXIS calculation the steady-state is already reached in 1 day and thus there are no more changes after that. This could be because of a very high hydraulic conductivity by mistake (m/s vs m/day)?If not, I would suggest you submit a service request. Then, one of our support engineers can help you in detail: https://apps.bentley.com/srmanager/ProductSupport
