Hi support team
I am using the plaxs2d connection edition V 21.01 and I would like to find a constitutive model which can simulate the strain softening behavior of the clay. I read several publications that NGI-ADPSoft model can simulate the strain softening behaivour.
Unfortunately, I can not find the NGI-ADPSoft model in Plaxis2d and also any the description of this model.
Could you please let me know the NGI-ADPSoft model was implemented in which version of Plaxis2d?
Except for NGI-ADPSoft, are there other constitutive models for strain softening of the clay?
Thank you for your help,
Best,
Dear Jian,
The NGI-ADPSoft model has not been implemented for PLAXIS by us at least, though it could be that NGI themselves did of course.I presume you would like to have strain softening because it's an overconsolidated clay, in which case in PLAXIS we have the OC-Clay model.
With kind regards,
Dennis Waterman
Dear Dennis,
Thank you for your reply.
I am not sure, but I think the "ngiadps64.dll" in the user-defined mode is the SHANSEP NGI-ADP model if I understand well. Please see the below link:
UDSM - SHANSEP NGI-ADP model - PLAXIS | SOILVISION Wiki - PLAXIS | SOILVISION - Bentley Communities
I compared the input parameters, this ngiadps64.dll is different from the NGI-ADP-Soft.
Best regards,
Jian
It is indeed SHANSEP NGI-ADP, that is why I removed my remark again.
However, you should also have "adp_soft64.dll" and this is NGI-ADP-Soft.
Thank you very much for your reply. I did not find the adp_soft64.dll in my current version (plaxs2d connection edition V 21.01). Could you please let me know it was implemented in which version?
best regards,
PLAXIS has not officially released any version of the NGI-ADP-Soft model.
Possibly NGI has released this or may have published research, therefore you can contact them for the DLL for PLAXIS.
