I am attempting to model a plate subject to an upward imposed displacement in a soil mass with two soil layers (see figure below). I activated the plate, the displacement and both soil polygons and then started the calculation.
This resulted in Error 111. Have I missed something in the setup to stop the soil from collapsing?

You can try to use different phases to activate the plate, displacement, and soil polygon.
According to Plaxis reference, Error 111 means the soil body collapse, which indicates that the large deformation of soil occur and caused the calculation to reach the divergence condition. You can try to use different inputs for prescribed displacement to see whether it is caused by the large displacement or the numerical problem.
